Fee Charge Basis
Percentage
This method is often used when there is a clearly defined building project needing the full services of the architect from sketch designs to building completion. The percentage is agreed at the outset and is based on the scale and complexity of the project.
Lump Sum
This method is suitable when the parameters of the service are clearly defined. The advantage to clients is that they know in advance what their fee commitment will be. However, should the parameters change significantly then the lump sum would need to be reconsidered.
Time
This method is used when the scope of the work cannot be foreseen or where the services do not relate to a projected building cost. The rate is agreed in advance and will vary according to the skills and experience of the personnel involved. Maximum budgets can agreed at the outset.
Domestic Extension Work
We have prepared a simple fee guide to our charges in respect of domestic extension work. This can be located in our Downloads page.
Copyright
It should be remembered that the work of the practice is copyright as defined under the copyright laws of the United Kingdom and the ownership of this copyright resides with architect solutions. The payment of fees does not grant or imply a transfer of ownership nor a licence to use or build the work.
